When M and C first got in touch to create their custom wedding rings, they both got SERPENT rings to wear on their pinkies as placeholders. I thought that was such a sweet idea, and love how the serpent looks as a pinky ring.

M wanted a wavy, organic shape that hearkened the voluminous shape of the SERPENT, with a stone she’d enjoy staring into for years to come. I sent over a few sketches, and she went with option 2.

Initially, we wanted a smaller, salt-and-pepper diamond, but this opalescent lavender Sri Lankan sapphire magically appeared at the 11th hour and she immediately knew it was the one.

We created a cresting wave of weighty platinum to frame this unbelievably special stone, and nestled a secret purple sapphire (standing in for Amethyst, her birthstone) on the underside to represent her relationship to herself in the wider world of her love.

This ring was a delightful challenge, and I’m in love with the result.
